Jack Reilly: Dimensional Paintings 1983-1987. A single painting consists of layered shaped-canvases stacked up to five deep. The acrylic and polyester resin-based colored sections are created independent from the canvas structures and later attached with plexiglass rods that physically suspended the color in front of the canvases. In his book "American Art Now," Art historian Edward Lucie-Smith wrote: "Reilly's approach to the innovative use of mixed-media materials is combined with a sence of Baroque restlessness..."
